“Love blurs you…

“Love blurs your vision; but after it recedes, you can see more clearly than ever. It’s like the tide going out, revealing whatever’s been thrown away and sunk: broken bottles, old gloves, rusting pop cans, nibbled fishbodies, bones. This is the kind of thing you see if you sit in the darkness with open eyes, not knowing the future.”

by Margaret Atwood, Cat’s Eye

Empty Out

You want more in your life, and you certainly deserve it. The “more” that you want might include love, romance, joy, prosperity, personal fulfillment, and so on. And while the universe is on your side, and is sending good energy to your rescue, you still need to make room in your life for the “more” that you deserve. If old habits, bad relationships, and unnecessary burdens are taking up a lot of space in your life, then no matter what the universe sends you there won’t be a place for it. Make space, and invite in the “more” that you deserve.

Risk it all

Love is really everything…

It’s really worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for.  The trouble is that if you dont risk anything, you risk even more.

Love is a complicated, complex & beautiful thing. Those who have it should treasure it eternally as it’s a feeling that not everybody gets to experience.

It all started at Barrio

365 days ago I had my first date with Marc at Barrio Cocina & Lounge on Capitol Hill. Barrio is probably one of my favorite restaurants on the hill, its an urban mexican style restaurant and I absolutely fell in love with it. I heard about it  and really wanted to check it out. Marc lived on the hill, so we both agreed that going to Barrio was a good idea for our first date as he had never been as well. I remember being excited so I made sure I was looking cute! I wore a navy summer dress and curled my hair. I met up with Marc at his place then we both walked together to the restaurant. It was a warm summer day and we got lucky and got a open-air table by the windows. I would say our first date went well although we did hit some bumps in the road towards the end but it turned out okay  ( I mean look at us we’re still dating after 1 year)  Anyways fast-forward time and yesterday Marc and I went back to Barrio to were it all began, we sat at the same spot and I even wore the same outfit. It was a night to relive our “First date” we talked about how we each had felt, remembered the conversations we shared and just basically traveled back in time. It was the perfect way to spend our 1-year anniversary. I made Marc a small gift, check it out below:

The “Book of Love Coupons” that I made for Marc

Anyways, this past year has been challenging and it definietly hasnt been easy but I am very thankful to have had the support of Marc along the way. We both supported each other, we had many arguements but we always made up and both learned a lot along the way and made each other grow. Most importantly we stuck with each other through the good and the bad.  J&J 100% of the time. Cheers to another 365 days for us!
